| Notes for Pearl Agnes PENNEL | ||||||||||||||||
| She loved company and loved to cook. When all the relatives would convene at their place they would play 500 to decide who would have to make the next freezer full of ice cream. One night Ellis had to go out at 2 A.M. to have enough milk and cream to make the next freezer full of ice cream. She made excellent bread and cinnamon rolls. A favorite sport of her boys was to distract her and make off with a pan full of cinnamon rolls as soon as they were done. She often worked from 5 am in the morning-canning, working in kitchen, using manual clothes washers, and cooking-heating water on a wood stove for washing - while feeding five kids all of whom went to college except for Arlene who died of Whooping cough when she was 18 months old. Pearl went to two years of a adventist academy. | ||||||||||||||||
