Whaplett, written 6 Jan 1635 in England, was executed 3 Nov 1636
in Jamestown. Executor was John Redman who loaned Whaplett the
money for his plantation. Witnesses were Abraham Peate, Mathewe
Martin, and Thomas Andrewes. Since Whaplett died soon after he
arrived it is possible the witnesses were drawn
from people who knew him, ie. people he sailed over with. From
Hotten, p. 120. we know that Thomas Whaplett aged twenty-one,
was a passenger on the ship GLOBE, of London, which left that
port for Virginia in August 1635. There was no Thomas Andrews
listed as a passenger on the GLOBE.
