| Notes for Thomas3 ANDREWS | ||||||||
| Immigrated 1635-36 sponsored by Geo. Menifye of James City Co. Very likely arrived with brothers or cousins David Andrews and Richard Andrews. Will is in, No 4, p. 341 Boyd's Marriage Index - Thomas Andrews & Dorothy Flint 1627- GT Tew OXON (Location is Greater Tew in Oxford Shire, which is a small town south of Banbury Cross. A large number of Andrews's live nearby in Chipping Norton) "Virginia Gleanings in England", Lathrop Withington, Genealogical Publishing Co. 1980, Baltimore; Will of Thomas Whaplett, written 6 Jan 1635 in England, was executed 3 Nov 1636 in Jamestown. Executor was John Redman who loaned Whaplett the money for his plantation. Witnesses were Abraham Peate, Mathewe Martin, and Thomas Andrewes. Since Whaplett died soon after he arrived it is possible the witnesses were drawn from people who knew him, ie. people he sailed over with. From Hotten, p. 120. we know that Thomas Whaplett aged twenty-one, was a passenger on the ship GLOBE, of London, which left that port for Virginia in August 1635. There was no Thomas Andrews listed as a passenger on the GLOBE. Death: Will Probated 21 Apr 1693 | ||||||||
